Madam Attorney, I have the honour to forward the Annual Report of the New Zealand Parole Board for the year ended 30 June 2004.

Explanatory Notes:
1. A new reporting system has increased the accuracy of statistics gathered by the New Zealand Parole Board. However, some statistics contained in previous Board Annual Reports cannot be compared with current figures due to different reporting parameters. This Annual Report should be regarded as the more authoritative record of statistics for 2002-03.

2. The law in this report is stated as at 30 June 2004.
